Dr. Nathan Grumdahl provides thoughtful outpatient medication management and therapy to patients 12-70 years of age with a focus on improving their quality of life as they engage in their healing journeys. His clinical expertise includes the treatment of mental health concerns related to mood, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, OCD, neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD, and developmental disability). Dr. Grumdahl also has expertise in supporting patients who may be struggling with disordered eating or substance use and takes a harm reduction approach to achieve transformative change for these concerns. He has specific clinical and research experience working with LGBTQ+ patients and their families and is the resident PrairieCare Clinical Expert in this topic area. He has also worked directly with BIPOC and immigrant families and is eager to continue to support these communities in his outpatient practice.

Dr. Grumdahl has worked across many areas of healthcare in his career beyond working in all levels of care in psychiatry, from pediatric emergency to public health, and he even stepped up to be front line infection control staff for PrairieCare during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has worked as a researcher exploring multiple clinical topics and published work in academic journals on adolescent LGBTQ+ mental health, global health innovation, sexual assault survivorship, and psychedelic assisted therapy. Dr. Grumdahl has offered his clinical perspective in several print and TV news stories and has developing resource guides to support those in our broader community. He continues to show up outside of his work day to engage in the development of skills for other mental health clinicians in his community and provides student training through multiple university graduate programs for social workers, therapists, and nurses.

In his free time, Dr. Grumdahl likes to ride his bike, explore the wilderness, swim in a big body of water, and play many different musical instruments
