Nathan (he/they) was born and raised in Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota’s School of Nursing with distinction and Summa Cum Laude honors. He continued on to complete his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree with the University of North Dakota. During his career in nursing, he has worked in pediatric emergency and public health settings as well as across all levels of mental health care.

His clinical focus includes the treatment of mood, anxiety, gender, and trauma concerns for patients ages 12+ and their families. He also sees patients who may be struggling with disordered eating or substance use concerns and takes a harm reduction approach to providing supportive patient care. He has experience working with LGBTQ+ patients and families including work in research supporting the improvement of care for individuals and families within this community. He provides supportive and informed care for adults, adolescents, and families on their journey exploring issues related to gender or sexuality. He has also worked directly with BIPOC and immigrant families across multiple levels of care and is eager to continue to support these communities in his outpatient practice.

In his free time, Nathan likes to bike (all year round and in all weather), travel the world, spend time with his two teenagers, and play many different musical instruments. A former professional musician, he has visited every state in United States except for Alaska and much of the world.
