Maria graduated with her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2008. Since then, she has experience working in multiple levels of care within the spectrum of mental health treatment, such as home-based therapy, outpatient therapy, county-based crisis services, and inpatient hospitals. In these settings, she has worked with a wide variety of mental health issues and relational issues. Maria works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.

Maria utilizes a variety of approaches depending upon the unique issues that clients present her with. These approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, systems theory, mindfulness, psychoeducation and a strengths-based focus. Supporting the client in addressing current concerns and clarifying goals in order to help clients work towards their own goals is very important to Maria. Maria encourages clients to show themselves grace and acceptance as they engage in the therapeutic process.

When not working, Maria loves spending time with her family, which includes two boys, her husband and most recently, a dog. Maria enjoys being outside, hiking, camping, cooking, and baking.
