Pride in our Social Workers! Happy National Social Work Month! By: Andrea Vasquez, LICSW, Director of Social Work and Family Therapy

Mar 07, 2014

I am proud to recognize that this month we celebrate social workers across the nation and for PrairieCare, I want to take a special moment to recognize all of our children, adolescent, and adult social workers for their never ending hard work and dedication to our mission, vision, and values.  I often say “I just don’t know if I could do that job” because I see the daily sweat and tears that go into this profession ensuring that the treatments plans are individualized, that patients and caregivers are listened to with gentle and non-judgment care, and to ensure that each discharge plan includes all scheduled appts, including coordination of transportation! Our social workers are the backbone of our programs and we all know that we couldn’t do our job without them.  So Thank YOU fellow social work colleagues we appreciate YOU!

The National Association of Social Workers is pleased to announce the 2014 Social Work Month theme: “All People Matter.”

  • Social workers believe that everyone has the right and potential to lead a productive and fulfilling life. Social workers believe in the importance of human relationships in civil society, and that each person has dignity and worth.
  • The NASW Code of Ethics prioritizes human well-being.
  • The policies and programs created by social workers throughout U.S. history seek to give more people—regardless of life circumstances—the opportunity to cope with and overcome obstacles.
