Dr. Marcouiller has worked in psychiatric-mental health care since 2012 and received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2015. Prior to the completion of her PhD, she participated in a pre-doctoral internship through Columbia University in New York. The focus of this internship was on pediatric populations with neurodevelopmental disabilities, and behavioral/psychiatric difficulties.

Dr. Marcouiller is passionate about evidence-based research. Her interest in research was sparked through mentorship in high school which offered her the opportunity to become a research assistant at the University of Minnesota. In this position for nearly a decade, she studied plant physiology and genetics. The lab’s work extended beyond the University of Minnesota through collaboration with NASA. This experience was instrumental in Dr. Marcouiller’s educational and career goals to combine her passions of psychiatric nursing and research. She finds fulfillment in being a preceptor- educating and mentoring the next generation of clinicians. As well as having worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota facilitating psychopharmacology courses to multidisciplinary graduate students.

Throughout her career, Dr. Marcouiller has provided psychiatric services in inpatient settings, day treatment programs, intensive outpatient programs, outpatient clinic services, chemical dependency programs, juvenile detention centers, and community mental health settings. Dr. Marcouiller is board-certified to provide psychiatric diagnostic evaluations, ongoing medication management, and psychotherapy for individuals across the lifespan, but specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Marcouiller provides holistic, patient-centered care that includes family and caregiver collaboration, as well as a multidisciplinary treatment team approach.

One of Dr. Marcouiller’s passions is traveling and exploring diverse cultures worldwide. Though, her greatest joy is the time spent with her husband and their children. Together, they enjoy the outdoors, summers spent on the lake, and time with family and friends.
