Dr. Kim Holtmeier joined PrairieCare in 2023 as part of our multidisciplinary team that provides care at our inpatient hospital. She has vast psychiatric experience across the Midwest with people of all ages at all levels of mental health treatment. Her career began with inpatient hospitalization services and rigorous outpatient therapy in a children’s Partial Hospitalization Program. For some time, she was a sub-investigator in clinical trials for life-changing medication. She even supported a public healthcare clinic to expand mental health services to underserved children and adolescents.

Finally arriving in Minnesota in 2006, Dr. Holtmeier returned to outpatient therapy, focusing on neurodevelopmental disorders. Her passion led her to become a Certified ADHD Evaluator for Minor League Baseball and the National Football League—even working with the Minnesota Vikings football program for two years. Before joining PrairieCare, she continued to expand her clinical support to people with depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar spectrum disorders, trauma-related disorders, schizophrenia, and personality disorders.

Outside of her work at PrairieCare, her constant companion and furry friend, Vinny, occupies her time and attention. He is a 4-year-old French Bulldog that was rescued from a puppy mill in the South.
