Licensure: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Bryan Cole holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts Performance from the University of Montana and earned a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. Bryan has been working with children and adolescents for almost 30 years. He has provided therapeutic support to children and families for over 17 years and has worked in a variety of clinical environments including in-home services, outpatient care, school-linked therapy and hospital-based care.

Bryan believes, without a doubt, that children are the most resilient people on the planet, and it is his obligation to honor and protect that resilience. He provides a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space so the youth he works with can find strength to face and grow beyond their challenges. Bryan believes that every person in a child’s family has a part to play in their treatment. By helping them see hope for their child’s future, they can come to understand that not only is progress possible, they can do it together. Bryan believes that progress is like building with LEGOS, you build one piece at a time until whatever you are building starts to emerge as a greater whole. It’s all about the little things, small steps, building one LEGO at a time because in mental health care, little is not insignificant, it is foundational and profound.

Bryan uses an integrated approach to therapy, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Structuralism, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care.

Outside of his work at PrairieCare, he values time with his family, walks with his doggies, and hiking in the woods. His favorite number is 6, his favorite color is blue, and his favorite cartoon character is Chuckie from the Rugrats!
