Margene has been providing an array of different mental health services since 1998. Before moving to the area recently, she worked in Alaska with underserved populations all around the state, including the Arctic and the Island of Kodiak. She has experience working in community mental health, hospitals, and in her own private practice. Working with those who have difficulty managing mental illness and addictions is her area of expertise and passion. Her philosophy is that everyone is doing the best they can, or they would be doing something different. She believes that with skills, understanding, and a helping relationship, anyone can do better and live better.

Margene believes trust between client and provider is the key to success and that this is achieved with an empathic, non-judgmental approach. Her education and background are in the treatment of people with mental illnesses and addictions, with particular expertise in treating traumas, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and people struggling with life transitions.

Margene loves spending time with family and friends. She enjoys fishing, music, traveling and following current events. She particularly loves to travel with friends outside the country to places she has never been to.
