Jessica Villery has been working in the field of occupational therapy since 2018. During OT school, she completed fieldworks in outpatient sensory based clinics, a pediatric inpatient psychiatric hospital, and doing social skills groups. Her capstone focused on the effectiveness of social skills groups on positive peer interaction skills for children with ASD. During her doctoral rotation, Jessica also completed all levels of the autism digital badging program through the American Occupational Therapy Association. Since graduating, she worked for Fraser as well as in-school based OT. Jessica was excited to be back on the clinical side when she joined PrairieCare in June of 2021.
Jessica’s areas of expertise include sensory processing, social emotional skills, program development, mental health, autism spectrum disorder, and pediatrics. Her style of treatment is client centered and client driven, with a goal to find the root cause of barriers, and facilitate client success in overcoming those barriers. She enjoys helping clients build healthy routines and coping skills as well as build necessary skills for daily living. Common modalities used are sensory items (dependent on client needs), Zones of Regulation, Sensory Connection Emotional Regulation curriculum, board and card games, building daily living skills, and recreation and leisure.
In Jessica’s free time she enjoys quilting, crocheting, cooking, baking, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her cats.
