Christopher A. Wall, MD

Dr. Wall received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota in 2000 and completed his Adult Psychiatric training at Mayo Clinic. He completed a subsequent fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mayo Clinic and joined the permanent staff in 2005. While at Mayo Clinic, his clinical and research work focused on the evaluation and treatment of severe mood, anxiety, and eating disorders in children and adolescents.

Dr. Wall has received numerous honors and awards both as an educator and researcher. As a resident, his awards included the Department of Psychiatry Resident Teacher of the Year Award, the M.J. Martin Excellence in Consultation Psychiatry Award, along with the Howard P. Rome Resident Grand Rounds Award. Upon joining the staff, he was honored with an award for the top 2% of physician educators at Mayo Clinic. He also received the competitive American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Pilot Research Award and a prestigious National award known as the Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Mood Disorders. His clinical and research work has been featured at a national and international level through interviews, peer-reviewed publications, and invited lectures.

Upon joining PrairieCare, Dr. Wall founded the Southern MN Operations based in Rochester. While still engaged in clinical work, his career became increasingly focused on building a range of specialized and innovative programs to treat complex mental illnesses in youth, families, and adults. Dr. Wall notes, “Our incredibly talented treatment teams and specialty programs are focused every day on providing mental health and a sense of relief for those that have been suffering. We will always strive to find new ways of providing collaborative and individualized care to those that take the brave step of reaching out for help.”
